Design in Transportation Technology
Maglev
Magnetic Levitation Train

Using the 9-step problem solving system: Design, model, and test a magnetic levitation vehicle that will traverse the given track length of 8 feet AND RETURN. Speed is not the most important factor.

No "sling-shoting" for propulsion. No Co cartridges or black powder devices may be used. Other propulsion systems may be external or on board.

Materials: You may use materials from the Tech. Ed. lab with Mr. Nuzzo's approval. You may also bring materials from home. Motors, propellers or other similar items may be used from Tech. Ed. but will be recycled at the end of the unit.

Magnets: Mr. Nuzzo will supply 6 magnets for each vehicle.
