The Design and Engineering Problem Solving Process:

The engineering problem solving process below is used to solve real world situations.  It is used universally by engineering, business, and industry in some form. This process is used with the CO2 cars in order to come up with the design that best solves the problem within  its design parameters and restrictions
.  The nine steps to the design / problem solving method are listed below:
NINE STEP PROBLEM SOLVING PROCESS
1.  Identify problems and opportunities
2.  Framing a design brief
3. Investigation and research
4.  Generating alternative solutions
5.  Choosing a solution
6.  Developmental work
7.  Modeling and prototyping
(Pictures of CO2 car prototypes)
8.  Testing and evaluating
9.  Redesigning and improving

The CO2 Rocket Car Problem:

Design, construct and test a CO2 powered metric race car according to local, state and national rules. A design / process folio must be kept to document the process.
